The DAPPER is a comprehensive assessment tool designed for use by the novice to experienced clinician in performing treatment planning assessments and making placement decisions compatible with the ASAM PPC-2R and other placement criteria. It guides the clinician by providing ratings of key constructs on each of the six assessment dimensions of the ASAM PPC-2R. The numeric ratings provide a means of comparing impressions among clinicians and assessing improvement or outcomes it in repeated assessments. The DAPPER is designed for use in the initial assessment and in monitoring progress during treatment. The ratings provide a semi-structured guide for each assessment so that key components of each of the assessment dimensions are covered and monitored.
APPLICATIONS: The DAPPER is designed to assist in guiding assessments, providing problem severity indications, and providing documentation of improvement and treatment outcomes. It provides comprehensive yet easy-to-use documentation for clinical decisions to support reimbursement, and can clarify communication between clinicians and utilization reviewers. Each form can be used for up to six assessments per individual.
